Art Portfolio
My work lives at the intersection of art, education, and cultural storytelling. Whether I am working with traditional materials, digital media, or mixed media, my creative practice is rooted in exploring the nuances of race, identity, beauty, and belonging, particularly through the lens of Black experiences.
The Colorism Project anchors my artistic research into the generational impact of colorism within Black communities, challenging narratives of erasure and redefining standards of beauty and worth. In parallel, my newer series, Visual Narratives of Joy & Resilience, expands that conversation by uplifting stories of identity, community, and pride. Both collections, and the work that continues beyond them, serve as visual affirmations of resilience, joy, and the power of being seen.
A visual exploration of the generational impact of colorism within Black communities. This series investigates how internalized racism, beauty standards, and systemic inequities impact self-worth, identity, and belonging. Widely exhibited and published, this project continues to serve as a catalyst for critical conversations around race, representation, and healing.

New Collection
Visual Narratives of Joy & Resilience
This collection is a celebration of Black identity, beauty, and resilience. Each portrait is created using digital tools combined with traditional art-making techniques that honor my roots as a painter. Using Procreate to build the foundation and Adobe Fresco to enhance the textures, I intentionally blend hand-drawn linework with painterly, tactile surfaces that mirror the warmth and depth of physical media.
These works are filled with layered color, dynamic brushstrokes, and textured mark-making that reflect the complexity of Black life, vibrant, powerful, and unapologetically present. Through thoughtful depictions of hair, skin, clothing, and expression, this body of work reclaims narratives of Black joy, strength, and belonging. Each piece holds space for visibility while honoring the everyday beauty of being seen and celebrated.
Archived Works is a collection of a few past pieces that reflect the evolution of my creative practice. Some of this work has been sold, while others represent earlier explorations in style, technique, and subject matter that helped shape the artist I am today. While my current work focuses on storytelling centered around identity, culture, and belonging, these pieces remain an important part of that journey.
This gallery honors the growth, experimentation, and foundations that continue to influence my practice, from traditional paintings to mixed media portraits and earlier conceptual explorations. While these works are no longer available for purchase, they remain part of my ongoing narrative as an artist, educator, and storyteller.
