Art Education in Practice.
I'm a full-time middle school art educator who believes students learn best when they are actively creating, experimenting, problem-solving, and making artistic decisions of their own.
My classroom combines skill-building, contemporary and historical artists, creative exploration, student choice, and hands-on learning to make art accessible and meaningful for young artists with different interests and abilities.

Students move through the creative process from brainstorming and planning to experimenting, creating, revising, and reflecting. While projects introduce specific skills and learning goals, students are encouraged to make individual choices that allow their finished work to feel like their own.
PROJECTS FROM THE ART ROOM
Abstract Wire Sculpture
Students explore line, movement, balance, and three-dimensional form while transforming wire into expressive abstract sculptures.
Pop Art Snack Sculptures
Students study Pop Art and transform familiar everyday objects into oversized papier-mâché sculptures.
Identity + Character Design
Students explore visual storytelling, symbolism, and character development to communicate ideas about identity.
Drawing With Light
Students reverse traditional value drawing by using white charcoal on black paper to build form through light.
